Absecon Police Department will host a Town Watch Meeting

The Absecon Police Department is looking
to work with concerned residents to make our community a safer place in
which to live and work. This inaugural Town Watch Meeting is the grass
roots beginning efforts to establish a working town watch program in Absecon.
All residents are welcome and encouraged to participate in our "kick-off"
campaign to promote neighborhood security and crime prevention. The key
to a successful program lies in the hands of our residents, together we can
build a better community.

Absecon Police Department will host National Night Out events on:
Tuesday August 4, 2009
6:00pm until 9:00pm
This year national night out celebrates its
26th anniversary with events held in communities nationwide. The idea is to
bring members of the community together in an effort to fight crime through
community awareness, crime/drug prevention, and unity. This is the third
consecutive year Absecon will actively participate in the program. There
will be a host of family activities including music by DJ EDDY "B" of Good
Time Music, food, and many demonstrations throughout the evening presented by a
variety of public safety organizations including the Absecon Police Department,
Absecon EMS, Absecon Fire Department, Absecon Office of Emergency Management,
Atlanticare, NJ State Forest Fire Service, and many more.
Local businesses will be on hand with gifts for those attending.

Absecon Police Department is sponsoring a Food Drive
Tuesday August 4, 2009
6:00pm until 9:00pm
As part of the National Night Out events
on Tuesday August 4, 2009 residents and visitors are urged to bring non-perishable
food items to support a food drive. The event is free and open to everyone
however we are asking for food donations to benefit the Community Food Bank
of New Jersey, Southern Branch. The Absecon Police Department will collect
and deliver the food items. We are living through a difficult economic time and this is one small
measure to help our friends and neighbors in need.
