The Code of the City, Chapter 122, requires that each dog and cat
within the city limits be licensed annually. In order to be licensed,
the animal must have a current rabies vaccination certificate. Atlantic
County regularly provides free rabies vaccinations. Veterinarians
administer the vaccination for a fee. Annual fees are listed below:
Spayed/Neutered
January 1 through March 31 - $7.00
April 1 through December 31 - $10.00
Non-Spayed/Non Neutered
January 1 through March 31 - $12.00
April 1 through December 31 - $15.00
Please visit the Clerk’s office to obtain your pet’s
license.
Absecon has contracted with Animal Control of South Jersey for services.
If your animal has strayed, or you find an animal on your property,
please call
1-800-824-1366 for assistance.
Your pet should always
wear the license tag. This aids the authorities in returning the pet
to its rightful owner.
