The City Clerk’s office is the hub of the community – serving
the public and all levels of government. The Clerk and Deputy Clerk
are here to respond to the requests of our citizens; providing prompt,
courteous service.
The Municipal Clerk’s position is a statutory position requiring
certification through education and testing. The designation, Registered
Municipal Clerk, is achieved and maintained through re-certification
bi-annually. Additionally, in Absecon the Clerk, by state certification
and appointment of the governing body, is also the Registrar of Vital
Statistics.
The Deputy Municipal Clerk, in the absence of the Clerk, shall have
all the powers of the Municipal Clerk and shall perform the functions
and duties of the office. The Deputy is a vital part of the Clerks
office and assists in all office activities. The Deputy Clerk, by
state certification and appointment of the governing body, is also
the Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics. |
